Overview

Polyurethane Foam Mattresses: Benefits for Sleep

Polyurethane foam mattresses (made in Alberta) offer a range of benefits for sleep purposes. Their ability to contour to the body's shape and distribute weight evenly provides exceptional pressure relief, reducing discomfort and promoting better circulation during sleep. The high-density polyurethane foam used in these mattresses enhances comfort by conforming to the body's curves, eliminating the feeling of sinking or sagging. Another advantage is their excellent motion isolation properties, minimizing disturbances for partners or light sleepers. Additionally, these mattresses are naturally resistant to allergens, making them a great choice for individuals with allergies or respiratory conditions. The durability of Alberta-made polyurethane foam mattresses ensures they maintain their shape and support over time, resulting in a longer lifespan. With their dense structure, these mattresses also reduce noise transmission, contributing to a quieter sleep environment. Furthermore, customers have the option to customize their polyurethane foam mattresses in terms of firmness, thickness, and other features, allowing them to find the perfect mattress to suit their individual needs and sleep styles.

All-foam Mattresses vs. Spring Mattresses: Advantages

All-foam mattresses offer numerous advantages over spring mattresses sold in Canada. They excel in pressure relief, as they conform to the body's shape and distribute weight evenly, reducing pressure points and alleviating discomfort. Foam mattresses also excel in motion isolation, minimizing disturbances caused by movement, making them ideal for couples or those easily disturbed by motion. Customized comfort is another benefit, as foam mattresses come in various firmness options, allowing individuals to find the level of support that suits their preferences. Additionally, foam mattresses are resistant to allergens, durable, noise-free, versatile, and often incorporate temperature-regulating features. These qualities make foam mattresses a popular choice for customers seeking enhanced comfort, personalized support, and a healthier sleep environment in Canada.

Product FAQs

Foam mattresses usually last between 7 to 10 years. However, the lifespan can vary depending on the quality of the foam, the density of the foam, and the amount of use the mattress receives. Proper care and maintenance such as using a mattress topper, rotating and flipping the mattress and avoiding extreme temperature variations in storage can also extend the lifespan of a foam mattress.

High-density foam refers to firmer foam options. Standard-density foam refers to relatively less firmer foam options. With High-Density, you may choose between XF (Extra-firm) or F (Firm) firmness levels for the same price. Within Standard-density, you choose between MF (Medium-firm), MS (Medium-soft) or S (Soft) firmness levels for the same price. Every firmness level shown on our website has a tooltip description on it, providing information on the type of sleep preferences and material info. For a more detailed discussion of your specific sleep or foam preferences, feel free to call us at +1 (780) 453-7997.

Polyurethane foam mattresses that are not CertiPur certified can potentially emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other chemicals that can cause respiratory irritation in some individuals. However, our polyurethane foam mattresses are made with low VOC emissions and hypoallergenic materials. Memory foam mattresses are often better suited for people with allergies or asthma as they are hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, which are common triggers for these conditions. However, it's important to note that some people may still have a reaction to the chemicals used in the manufacturing process of memory foam mattresses. A 100% natural Dunlop Latex mattress is definitely the most suitable for people with allergies or asthma. Natural latex is hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and resistant to dust mites, mold, and mildew. It also has excellent breathability and ventilation, which can help reduce the likelihood of allergens and irritants accumulating in the mattress. However, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional if you have specific concerns about your allergies or asthma, as some people may be allergic to latex.

We offer a range of high-density and standard-density foam mattresses. Firmnesses can range from Firm, Extra-firm or Super-Firm in high-density (HD) options and Medium-firm, Medium, Medium-soft, Soft or Extra-soft in standard-density (SD) options.

All mattresses come with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty.

A high-density FIRM foam mattress or a standard-density MEDIUM-FIRM foam mattress would be ideal for a crib mattress because it provides a supportive and safe sleeping surface for infants. The density of the foam ensures that the mattress is durable and can withstand the weight of the baby without sagging or losing its shape over time. The firmness of the foam ensures that the baby's body is properly supported and that there is no risk of suffocation or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The ideal firmness ILD for a crib mattress is typically between 28 and 52, with most parents preferring a firmness level between 30 and 45. This level of firmness is recommended by pediatricians and safety experts to reduce the risk of SIDS and provide proper support for a baby's developing spine. Additionally, a dense and firm foam mattress is also ideal for a crib mattress because it is hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, bacteria, and other allergens. This is important because infants have delicate respiratory systems and are more susceptible to allergies and respiratory issues.

The ideal firmness of a foam mattress for an RV should provide sufficient support while still being comfortable enough to ensure a good night's sleep. It should also be durable and able to withstand the unique conditions of RV travel. A medium-firm foam mattress is typically recommended for RV use, striking the perfect balance between support and comfort. Side sleepers typically prefer softer foam mattresses as they allow for better pressure relief on the shoulders and hips. Back sleepers tend to prefer medium firmness foam mattresses as they provide support for the spine while still allowing for some cushioning. Stomach sleepers generally prefer firm foam mattresses as they help to keep the spine aligned and prevent sagging in the midsection. Choosing the right foam firmness can greatly improve sleep quality and overall comfort.

The ideal thickness for a foam mattress in an RV typically ranges from 6 to 8 inches in medium firmness, providing both comfort and support for a good night's sleep on the road. However, since some RVs have depth constraints, customers may also choose 4 to 5 inch thick mattresses with greater firmness instead.

1. Rotate the mattress: Foam mattresses can develop body impressions over time, so it's recommended to rotate the mattress every three to six months to ensure even wear. 2. Use a mattress protector: A mattress protector can prevent spills, stains, and dust mites from penetrating the foam layers. 3. Keep it clean: Regularly vacuum the mattress to remove dust and debris. 4. Avoid jumping or standing on the mattress: Foam mattresses are not designed to support excessive weight, so avoid jumping or standing on the mattress to prevent damage. 5. Allow for proper ventilation: Foam mattresses can retain heat, so it's important to allow for proper ventilation by removing any bedding or covers during the day and opening windows or using a fan to circulate air.

Polyurethane foam in mattresses can respond to temperature changes in different ways depending on the specific type of foam used. Memory foam, for example, is known for its ability to respond to body heat and mold to the shape of the sleeper's body. This means that as the temperature increases, the foam becomes softer and more pliable, allowing it to conform to the contours of the body. Conversely, as the temperature decreases, the foam becomes firmer and less pliable, providing more support. However, some types of polyurethane foam can also be affected by extreme temperatures. For instance, if exposed to very high temperatures, the foam may become softer than intended, leading to sagging and reduced support. On the other hand, if exposed to very low temperatures, the foam may become stiff and less comfortable to sleep on. Overall, the response of polyurethane foam in mattresses to temperature changes can vary depending on the specific type and quality of foam used, as well as the temperature range to which it is exposed.

Foam mattresses offer superior comfort and support, as they contour to your body shape and relieve pressure points. They are also hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, making them an ideal choice for those with allergies. Foam mattresses are durable and long-lasting, and they do not transfer motion, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. Additionally, they are available in various firmness levels, allowing you to choose the perfect one for your sleeping preferences.

When considering purchasing a foam mattress, customers often have questions about the level of firmness, the materials used, the durability, and the comfort level. They may also inquire about the size options available, the warranty, and the price range. Additionally, customers may want to know how to care for and maintain their foam mattress, as well as any potential health benefits associated with using a foam mattress.

A bifold mattress is a versatile bedding solution that offers numerous benefits and advantages. With its unique folding design, it provides a comfortable sleeping surface that easily folds up for compact storage. At Tangerine Foam, bifold mattresses are made from high-quality materials, which offer excellent durability, comfort, and support. They are easy to transport and provide a practical solution for small living spaces, guest rooms, and camping trips. Whether you're looking for a space-saving bedding solution or require a comfortable and supportive mattress for your guests, a bifold mattress is an excellent choice. Its compact design, durability, and portability make it a fantastic investment for anyone looking for a comfortable resting experience. Bifold and trifold mattresses are both popular options for guests, camping, and temporary bedding solutions. While bifold mattresses can fold in half, trifold mattresses have two additional folds that make them more compressed and portable. Bifold mattresses tend to offer a larger sleeping surface, while trifold mattresses are more suitable for small spaces or traveling. Ultimately, the choice between bifold and trifold depends on personal preference and intended use.

Based on our market experience, the ideal density for a foam mattress in an RV is typically between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds per cubic foot, as this provides the perfect balance of comfort and support for a good night's sleep while on the road.

When shopping for an RV mattress, there are a few important factors to consider to ensure comfort and quality sleep. First, the size and shape of the mattress should fit the RV bed platform. Secondly, the type of material used in the mattress should be taken into account, such as foam or innerspring. Additionally, the thickness and firmness of the mattress can impact comfort and support levels. Finally, consider special features like hypoallergenic options or antimicrobial properties to maintain cleanliness and freshness. By taking these factors into consideration, you can find the ideal RV mattress for a restful night's sleep on the road. Choosing the right foam firmness for an RV mattress is crucial for a comfortable night's sleep on the road. Optimal foam density ensures optimal comfort and support, and the best way to determine ideal firmness is by considering several factors, including the weight and sleeping position of the sleeper. With proper research and guidance, finding the best foam firmness for your RV mattress can transform your traveling experience. When selecting an RV mattress, foam density is a crucial factor in determining comfort and durability. The ideal foam density for an RV mattress should be high enough to provide adequate support and prevent sagging, yet lightweight enough to ensure easy mobility. Generally, a density of 1.5 to 2.1 lbs per cubic foot is considered optimal for an RV mattress, as it offers the perfect balance between firmness and pliability. Choosing an RV mattress with the right foam density can significantly enhance your sleep quality while on the road.

We can make a mattress using polyurethane foam, gel memory foam or 100% natural dunlop latex. We offer various firmness options for polyurethane foam ranging from “Super firm” to “Extra soft”.

We offer both custom sizes and standard mattress sizes. The standard sizes are Twin, Twin XL, Super Single aka (¾ mattress), Full, Full XL, Queen, Queen RV Short, Queen RV Long, King and California King. The custom sizes can be ordered by providing dimensions (width, length and depth in inches). We can cut foam in increments of a quarter of an inch, so you need not round off your dimensions. We can also do custom cuts like an Alberta-shaped mattress as is often required in some RVs and camper trailers. We charge you by the volume of foam consumed, so smaller the mattress dimensions, lower the price.
